It's the latest, best thing out to smooth your body when you wear somewhat clingy clothing or to avoid any lines, panty or otherwise in pants. Comfortable, stretchy and invented by a young gal who had started out cutting the feet of her panty hose.
With $5000 as starter money and some simple sketches she hit manufacturer after manufacturer. No takers. One even said to her he thought she was part of "You're on Candid Camera" thats how unlikely he felt her idea was to go anywhere. Bet he's kicking himself now.
Meanwhile Oprah is raving about the Spanx and this young gal is making a tremendous amount of money with her product. Now my only issue with the Spanx long line is that it's a major piece of underwear if you're in a hot, sticky climate, say, New Orleans in the summer or Florida for that matter. It is thin but it's not skin. The thong is minmalism at it's best in the underwear line. Although I'm a granny I go for the thong for everyday. It looks as though it would be quite uncomfortable but once you've worn the thong you odn't even feel it. It comes with wider and thinner back lines. On the build a better mousetrap thinking designers have come up with bejeweled and charmed back lines. In Florida, or at least in South Beach in FLorida it seems to be a "look" to wear you're pants low enough so that the charms or bling shows. Very entertaining.
Another choice, not mine, is going *Commando. I'd never given this a thought until I met up with a newly divorced gal who was going Commando. Her explanation was that she couldn't afford underwear on her new budget. My sister is a member of the Commando way of thinking. Personally it squeams me out when I think of her trying on clothing in stores.
