A Children's Tale
Boris Krump is an evil wizard that places an eating curse on dear, sweet Rozella.
One day a mysterious man came into town. He was tall and thin. He had a crooked mustache and a diabolical grin. His name was Boris Krump. He wore an outlandish outfit. He had a black cloak that covered a black and silver shirt. His pants were black and narrow. On the top of his head, he wore a wizard's hat. He also possessed a black twisted cane.
"Hello my friends of Broomsville," he announced to some curious onlookers. "I, Boris Krump, am hear to make the people of Broomsville very rich."
Rozella heard Boris make this statement and said, "You're a fraud. I have a special gift that tells whether a person is honest or a liar. Leave our village at once."
Boris looked uneasily as he spoke, "I am telling the truth. I can make you rich. This little girl knows nothing."
Kevin Bannister, the mayor of Broomsville, became very agitated when he heard this remark. "Rozella is wise beyond her years. She has the gift of honesty and integrity. How dare you insult Rozella. Go tell your lies to another town. Leave here while you still can in one piece."
"You shall pay for your insolence," Boris stated in an angry voice. "I shall leave. You had your chance at wealth and fame. As for you Rozella, I shall cast a little spell. Small in size but a hungry girl. Now food is all you think of in the world." Boris then pounded the cane on the ground twice and vanished from Broomsville.
The people of Broomsville laughed and cheered at the disappearance of Boris Krump. Unfortunately, Rozella couldn't share in the joy. All of a sudden, Rozella became very hungry. "I must have food. I'm starving."
Rozella's father, Ben Turpin, came up to Rozella with a worried expression. "Let's go home. I'll make you a nice lunch."
Ben Turpin was a good, decent man. He stood 6'4" and was a hard worker. Everyone respected Ben for his common sense and decency. Ben's wife, Jennifer, had passed away two years ago from a serious illness. Ben loved his daughter and took great care of her. Rozella had a delicious meal of eggs, tomato soup, grilled cheese, and a glass of milk. Rozella finished her meal quickly and asked for more.
"Are you sure that you want more food?" asked Ben. "This is normally too much for you to eat."
"I can't help it. I'm so hungry. What's come over me?"
Ben thought for a moment and then said, "It's Boris Krump. He's placed a curse on you. It is the curse of hunger. I've heard of this curse but have never witnessed it. Boris Krump was no ordinary person. He was an evil wizard."
"Daddy, I need to eat. I'm so hungry."
Ben made a second lunch for Rozella. Once again, Rozella finished her second meal within a couple minutes. "I need more food. I'm starving."
Ben looked desperate. "I must find a way to stop the curse." Ben was a collector of ancient books. He looked for a spell that would counter the evil curse.
Rozella started opening up cupboards and eating all kinds of snacks. She had crackers, nuts, pretzels, chips, and chocolate candy. She ate for over an hour and was still hungry.
Ben came upon a spell that he hoped would lift the curse. He went over to Rozella and said, "Hunger forever now be gone. Back to your normal appetite shall you belong."
Rozella dropped her bag of potato chips. "I feel like I'm about to burst," remarked Rozella.
"The curse is lifted. You are no longer under the hunger curse," Ben announced happily.
Rozella and her father went back to the town square. Ben called the people of Broomsville together for a town meeting. "Boris Krump was an evil wizard. He put a curse on Rozella. Fortunately, I was able to reverse the curse. Should Boris Krump return, I shall give him a special surprise."
Two days later, Boris did return. "Where's that annoying girl Rozella? Come out Rozella. I have some delicious food for you to eat."
Ben Turpin approached Boris. "You put a curse on my daughter. You made me very mad. Now I'm going to return the favor."
Boris chuckled and said, "Be gone. I have no interest in you. I just want to see your lovely daughter."
Ben Turpin chanted, "Boris Krump, Wizard of Yak, now you shall suffer an eating attack."
After Ben's chant, Boris immediately changed his expression. He started feeling very hungry. "How dare you put a curse on me. You shall pay dearly."
Ben gave a second chant, "Evil wizard go far away on a distant island you shall stay."
Boris Krump was lifted into the air by a swirling wind and sent flying thousands of miles from Broomsville.
"Oh father," spoke Rozella. "You've sent Boris Krump away forever. Thank you."
Ben Turpin announced in a booming voice, "The Evil Wizard is gone. He will be very hungry on a small, deserted island. Our village is safe again."
Meanwhile, Boris Krump sat on a small, tropical island eating mangoes. "One day you shall all pay for your treachery," Boris vowed. Afterwards, Boris spent the rest of his day eating berries and nuts.
