American Eagle Jeans: A Review
The American Eagle jeans are great!
I bought a pair of "hipster" jeans from American Eagle because they are flared and have a higher rise than their other flare jeans (the "artist" cut). They are still a low rise jean, but not so low that you feel exposed. The lighter wash was cheaper than the darker wash with stretch.
Although some of American Eagle's clothing can be expensive, I'm satisfied with the money I spent on a pair of their jeans. After several months of heavy use, the jeans have held up well. No holes, no frays, etc. They didn't really shrink in the wash, either, which is good. Nothing like buying something that fits just right, washing it, and having it come out a tad too small.
The American Eagle jeans fit well. I usually have a hard time finding jeans because manufacturers seem to think every woman has a "pooch" (carries extra weight in front). Since I don't, jeans often are way too big through the waist. No such problem with the American Eagle jeans - they actually fit waist, hips, butt... Women will agree that it is hard to find a jean that fits all these areas. Perhaps it helps that the store is geared towards people in my age group.
Since I picked a jean that does not have stretch, I was skeptical. I've only worn stretch jeans for years, so I didn't think non-stretch would be comfortable. But after a few minutes of wear the jeans feel great.
The store itself offers some good deals as well. The Access Pass, which is a free rewards program, gives you points for each item. Every 3 months you get a coupon based on how many points you have. You only need 50 points for the smallest coupon (10% off a purchase), and one pair of jeans is worth 20 points. Many shoppers like myself, who buy pants more than once in a blue moon have no trouble earning coupons for things they're buying anyway.
Overall, American Eagle's jeans are a good deal. They cost a little more than some other brands do, but they will fit well and last a long time. They are comfortable to wear, too.
