Fashion Product Review: If I Wear Spanx, What Message Am I Sending?
Spanx seem to be a great product, but what does wearing them say?
She can wear Spanx, of course! They help to keep that womanly figure. Even males can wear them to look thinner.
Now, I love the whole concept of Spanx. I think it is a great idea. Footless pantyhose that actually does give me a womanly shape rather than falling like control top panty hose.
Of course, I've never really worn control top panty hose for that purpose (which isn't saying that there are times I could use it for that purpose), but just because I ended up buying that type when I grabbed some panty hose.
The only reservation I have is wondering if I really want to wear a product called Spanx on my derrière. I really do have to think about it.
I mean, from my earliest days, spanking was not something pleasant. My parents never spanked so hard that it really hurt. They only spanked so my rear end was sore and my pride was hurt. Yet, the idea of being spanked was not a good thing. It was really one of those things I wanted to avoid just like vaccinations and time outs in my room.
As I grew older, I learned that some people are actually into spanking. However, this can be violent, sexual, or both. I have to wonder to myself what message I am sending if I wear a product called Spanx.
Do I want to be punished? Am I asking for kinky role play? Is there another message that can possibly be perceived?
Would my body yell out to the world, "Hey, I'm wearing Spanx!"? What would happen if that happened? Would it be embarrassed and would all of me start to turn red? How would I possibly hide that? Would it even be worth wearing this is cooler weather?
Maybe I could wear them without these questions if they were named differently like TightAbs or TummyTuckers.
It's just too bad that those things sound like medicines or exercise equipment.
For now, I guess I'll still have to debate the benefits along with the name of the product.
